Barcelona attacking midfielder, Pablo Torre is reportedly likely to leave Xavi’s side this summer transfer window due to the signing of Ilkay Gundogan and Gavi’s contract renewal, according to El Nacional.
Recall that Gundogan joined Barcelona on a free transfer from Manchester City and Gavi had renewed his contract with the Catalan club.
As a result, Torre’s chances for first-team action is now even more complicated after he struggled for minutes last season.
Torres joined the Blaugrana from Racing Santander for €5 million last summer.
The 20-year-old managed just 338 minutes of first-team football in all competitions.
But Sergio Busquets’ exit from Barcelona offered him hope of garnering more first-team action in the near future.
However, Gundogan’s signing and Gavi’s new contract means Torres could reportedly be sent out on loan to continue his development.
Torres apparently doesn’t have the confidence of Xavi but is favored by Barcelona’s director of football, Mateu Alemany, according to the report.
