Revealed: How Edu saved Arsenal £16 million in the Jurrien Timber deal.
According to Football London, Arsenal are set to pay only £34 million to sign Jurrien Timber from Ajax with about £4 million in add-ons.
This is £16 million lesser than the Dutch club’s initial quote of at least £50 million for the centre-back.
Football London understands the price was brought down to a great extent, thanks to Edu Gaspar’s negotiation skills.
Arsenal have been busy this summer, signing the likes of Kai Havertz and Declan Rice. Timber has also been a smart addition and it doesn’t hurt to save some cash!
Edu has often been criticised for over-paying and under-selling but he’s clearly learning from his mistakes at Arsenal.
