Inter Milan reject second Andre Onana bid from Manchester United
Inter Milan have rejected the second bid from Manchester United to acquire the services of Andre Onana this summer, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano on Twitter (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Red Devils offered the Nerazzurri a total package of €50 million that included add-ons. However, the Old Trafford side have been informed that the Serie A giants value the shot-stopper a bit higher.
As things stand, United are still in touch with the Italian outfit to get the Cameroonian in the ongoing transfer window. The Red Devils could seal a deal with a minor tweak as the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza side are expected to agree €55 million for the 27-year-old.
To that end, it seems like Inter are already resigned to losing Onana in the coming days. Bayern Munich’s veteran goalkeeper Yann Sommer is being eyed by the Nerazzurri to replace the Cameroonian.
Last season, the 27-year-old was a key player for Simone Inzaghi’s team. The former Ajax Amsterdam shot-stopper quickly pipped long-time number one Samir Handanovic in the pecking order.
Subsequently, Onana was pivotal to the Serie A giants’ Champions League final run. The Cameroonian caught a lot of people’s attention with his display against Manchester City despite the Italian outfit’s defeat.
