Sandro Tonali has just sent exciting four-word message to Bruno Guimaraes on Instagram

Newcastle United’s midfield got a lot better this week when the club announced the signing of Sandro Tonali.

The 23-year-old was confirmed as a Toon player on Monday, costing £55million from AC Milan.

Tonali has been on Tyneside this week, and has visited St James’ Park for the first time to don the famous black and white stripes. They certainly suit him, and fans are excited to see him wear them each and every week.

The Italy international joins a strong midfield at Newcastle, with the likes of Bruno Guimaraes, Joelinton, Joe Willock and Sean Longstaff all performing brilliantly last season. There was great competition for places, and that will only intensify now that Tonali is at the club.

Our main man in midfield is Bruno. He has been transformative since his arrival in January 2022, becoming the talisman for Eddie Howe’s team. He is probably the one player who Newcastle can’t do without, but that might change now Tonali is here.

The thought of those two playing together for the Magpies is very exciting, and they have now exchanged words on Tonali’s official Instagram account.

Sandro Tonali delivers vow to Bruno Guimaraes after Newcastle arrival

Following his visit to St James’ Park, Tonali took to Instagram to deliver a message to supporters.

He wrote: “Hey Magpies! Thank you for the warm welcome. Excited to start this next chapter of my career, with my new teammates. Can’t wait to play at St James Park.”

Tonali is excited to play alongside his new teammates, many of which replied to his Instagram message.

The likes of Joe Willock and Jacob Murphy have welcomed him to Tyneside, while there was also a response from Bruno. He simply posted a smiley face with heart-eyes emoji, and it prompted a reply from the newest member of Howe’s squad.

Tonali responded: “Let’s go to work.”

That vow from the new signing is very exciting. It is going to be a real joy to watch Tonali play alongside Bruno, which is what Howe plans to do.

They could get the best out of each other, and make our exceptional midfield even better. That is a tantalising prospect for Toon fans, and one that should strike fear into the rest of the Premier League.

Howe already had a marquee midfielder in Bruno, but wanted another this summer. He has got exactly that in Tonali, whose arrival is a real statement of intent ahead of the new season.
