Report: Club now ready to sell ‘incredible’ player to Arsenal or Newcastle for £40m

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool or Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United could now be able to sign Romeo Lavia from Southampton for £40 million.

According to The Sun (print edition, page 53, July 7, 2023), Arsenal, Newcastle United and Liverpool all are interested in signing Romeo Lavia from Southampton in the summer transfer window.

The report has claimed that the Saints were initially looking for £50 million in transfer fees for the Belgium international defensive midfielder.

However, Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle are not willing to pay that much for the 19-year-old, who has been described as “incredible” by Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola.

The British tabloid have reported that Southampton are now ready to sell Lavia for £40 million.

The Saints clearly are willing to sell the former Manchester City prospect this summer.

And the defensive midfielder could be keen on a move to Arsenal, Newcastle or Liverpool.

After all, Southampton will play in the Championship next season after getting relegated from the Premier League.

Arsenal and Liverpool will challenge for the Premier League title in the coming years, while Newcastle are also going places under owners PIF and manager Eddie Howe.
