Everton teenager Ishe Samuels-Smith is set to sign for Chelsea after passing a medical with the club, sources have told Football Insider.
The 17-year-old has agreed terms to a three-year deal with the Blues and is set to complete a £4million move to Stamford Bridge this summer.
Football Insider understands that documents are now being finalised between both parties and the transfer is set to be completed imminently.
The London giants remained eager to sign the teenager ahead of the 2023/24 season and have now struck an agreement with the Toffees for his signature.
Samuels-Smith played over 3,800 minutes of youth football for the Toffees last season, including 25 appearances in the Under-18s Premier League, 15 appearances in Premier League 2 and five in the FA Youth Cup.
The versatile defender was also named on the bench for the first team twice last season – in the Carabao Cup clash against Bournemouth and the Premier League fixture against Fulham.
Despite being on the verge of a first-team breakthrough at Goodison Park, Samuels-Smith is set to depart the Merseyside club having never made his senior debut for the side.
Samuels-Smith joined Everton’s academy aged nine and progressed through the club’s youth setup, being named as the club’s brightest young talent by The Guardian in 2022.
He has also made progress on the international stage, making 18 caps for England’s Under-17s side.
