Kai Havertz and Thiago Silva both left emotional after Chelsea’s announcement last night.
Chelsea defender Thiago Silva and former teammate Kai Havertz were both left emotional after Mason Mount uploaded his goodbye video to supporters.
The pair both commented on Instagram crying emojis, with the England international’s time at Stamford Bridge now set to officially come to an end.
It is expected that today Mount will be announced as a new Manchester United player, after his relationship with the Chelsea hierarchy completely deteriorated to the point where he didn’t feel like he could stay.
This is despite being offered multiple contracts to remain in West London, both long term and short term.
When it became known he would be looking for a move, many big teams were keen to bring him in after a number of strong seasons at the top level.
It has been claimed that Liverpool were originally the England international’s first choice, however he will be playing his football for Erik ten Hag’s side next season.
In an attempt to show emotion to supporters, Mount uploaded a video where he addressed them directly.
This has seen a number of players comment, with Silva and Havertz leading the emotion.
The German in particular will be well aware of what the feeling is like to say goodbye to the Blues. He of course has recently made the move across the capital to Arsenal.
While he elected for a more traditional method of thanking the fans, many supporters were not bought by Mount’s attempts to clear his name.
The fact that some have noticed the blonde hair he possesses in the video was not the same as what he was recently seen in a picture at his new club did little to help his cause and his attempts to come across genuine.
