Tottenham Hotspur host Arsenal in the 193rd North London derby on Sunday.

The Gunners defeated Antonio Conte’s slow team 3-1 earlier in the season, but the Lilywhites usually dominate North London derbies at home.

While mourning the passing of former Juventus teammate and Italy icon Gianluca Vialli, Conte saw his Tottenham side struggle in their FA Cup win against League One Portsmouth.

Three days after sending four unanswered goals past the Eagles away from home, Tottenham depended on a sweetly-struck Harry Kane effort to beat a tenacious and determined Portsmouth team, setting up a fourth-round trip to Preston North End.

While breaking Spurs’ 15-year trophy drought will be Conte’s first priority, the Italian has an uphill battle to make it back-to-back Champions League seasons for Spurs, who are fifth in the table with 33 points from 54, two behind Manchester United having played a game more.

Tottenham have lost three of their last four Premier League home games, conceding at least two goals per game, including a 4-0 thrashing of Crystal Palace.

The Lilywhites’ win at Selhurst Park ended a seven-game league run without a clean sheet, and they haven’t failed to score against Arsenal in the top level since November 2017, but they won’t fear the short trip to unfriendly territory.
