Arsenal set £62m Mudryk transfer deadline as £17.8m January chance emerges

Edu makes Mudryk decision

Arsenal’s technical director Edu has made a huge decision in an attempt to finalise a transfer for Mykhaylo Mudryk. The Gunners have made a huge breakthrough this week in their negotiations for the 22-year-old with a deal being secured with Shakhtar Donetsk now closer than ever, as understands.

Two bids have been submitted for Mudryk by Arsenal, with the first being a £55million package deal, however both were swiftly rejected by the Ukrainian club, as understands. The latest offer is a significant step up on the recent proposals though, with it being suggested the fee could be in the region of £75-80million.

After weeks of negotiations, it looks likely that a deal could be at an advanced stage following a new report revealing what Edu has done to push for the move to be completed.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Edu has travelled to Warsaw where Shakhtar Donetsk are currently stationed in the hopes of completing the final details on the same day Mikel Arteta refused to comment on Mudryk in his press conference.

Fresneda eyed as next signing

Arsenal look set to know what their next move in the January window will be once the transfer of Mykhaylo Mudryk is completed. The Gunners are one a number of clubs keeping tabs on Real Vallodolid right-back Ivan Fresneda who is also a target of Newcastle, Juventus and Borussia Dortmund.

A post from PucelaNews_1928 on Twitter, a dedicated Vallodolid news page, has suggested that the 18-year-old wishes to make Arsenal his next club. They also claim that the Gunners are interested but have asked for patience while they secure the final details of the transfer for Mudryk.

Fabrizio Romano also recently reported the latest on Fresneda’s future, revealing the teenager is still yet to decide his future. The young Spaniard has made eight La Liga appearances this season and will see his contract at Vallodolid expire in June 2025.

Trossard opportunity

A major update on the future of Brighton star Leandro Trossard has now been revealed which appears to indicate a January departure from the Seagulls will happen.

The Gunners were monitoring the situation of the Belgian international with Chelsea and Tottenham also interested and following a fresh claim from Roberto De Zerbi.

Speaking ahead of the clash against Liverpool, he said, “Leandro Trossard isn’t on the list for next game. The last session before last game, when he understood he wasn’t playing, he left the session without telling me anything. I told him I don’t like this attitude.”

Trossard’s agent Josy Comhair then released a statement on the situation involving his client which circulated on social media and furthered talk of an imminent sell in the winter window of Trossard.

Although a one-year extension was activated in Trossard’s contract recently, a cut-price transfer could be secured for the 28-year-old could be available with two parties likely wanting to sever ties as soon as possible.

On CIES Football Observatory, Trossard is valued at £17.8million which could be tempting for Arsenal to swoop in for a proven Premier League player.
