Manchester United beat Bournemouth 3-0 at Old Trafford on Tuesday to win its fourth straight Premier League game.

Erik ten Hag’s team won thanks to goals from Casemiro, Luke Shaw, and Marcus Rashford. The Red Devils are now tied with third-place Newcastle United on points.

The game started slowly, and Anthony Martial’s missed header was the only notable chance in the first quarter. That was true until Casemiro scored past Mark Travers in the away goal to give United the lead.

The Brazilian scored after a beautiful free kick from Christian Eriksen found him in the box. From about six yards away, he volleyed the ball into the back of the net on the first try.

But the first half was quiet, partly because of the rain. United’s best shot, besides the goal, was a deflected free kick by Eriksen. As for Bournemouth, Jaidon Anthony and Philip Billing had half-chances with free kicks, and Dominic Solanke’s header went wide.

But United had a two-goal lead in the first few minutes of the second half. Rashford and Shaw started a great counterattack well inside their own half, and seconds later, Shaw tapped the ball into the back of the Cherries’ net from just a few yards away.

Soon after, Martial came close with a header off a Casemiro cross. Around the hour mark, the visitors had their best stretch of the game. David de Gea had hardly been bothered up to that point, but he had to make three saves in quick succession to stop headers from Billing and Solanke, and then he had to palm away a shot from Anthony.

But after 15 minutes of not playing well, United got back on track. Rashford sailed a shot wide, and Alejandro Garnacho’s curling shot hit the outside of the post. In the 82nd minute, the winger made Travers make a save after Diogo Dalot had already tested the Bournemouth goalkeeper.

Rashford’s good run of form continued late in the game when he scored the game’s third goal. Bruno Fernandes passed the ball to Rashford, who easily scored from just a few yards out. De Gea had to be there to stop Anthony’s late shot, and Siriki Dembele’s late cross hit the crossbar, but United kept their fourth straight clean sheet.
