Chelsea will try to improve their chances of making the top four and get a good start to 2023 when they play Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on New Year’s Day.
Last time out, the Blues won easily at home against Bournemouth, while the Tricky Trees lost to Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Six days after beating Blackburn Rovers 4-1 in the fourth round of the EFL Cup, Nottingham Forest lost 3-0 at Man United on Tuesday night, ending a four-game winning streak in all competitions.
Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, and Fred all scored for the Red Devils, making it hard for Steve Cooper’s team to stop them. In the end, they lost their ninth league game of the season.
Forest is the only team in the Premier League that hasn’t won a game away from home yet this season. Cooper’s team is still in the relegation zone, but at the time of writing they are only one point away from safety and only four points behind Leicester City in 13th place.
