Joao Felix on loan to Arsenal or Manchester United?
Joao Felix is a forward for Atletico Madrid. Manchester United and Arsenal are interested in him, and his agent Jorge Mendes has suggested that his client move to Arsenal on loan in January.
Even though Atleti CEO Miguel Angel Gil Marin said earlier this month that Felix, a star player for Portugal, could leave the club, Atleti has yet to get a good offer for Felix.
Mendes says that a loan move to the Premier League could be good for Felix because Atletico will only listen to permanent transfer offers of at least €100 million.
Mendes thinks that six months away from Atleti and manager Diego Simeone, with whom Felix has been very vocal about his disagreements, could be the best way to make sure the club gets a fair transfer fee in the summer.
Felix has only started eight LaLiga and Champions League games this season. He has played in nine more games, but only as a substitute. He has scored three goals and set up three more.
Atleti doesn’t like the idea at first because they want to make money quickly to help their financial situation, which got worse when they finished last in their Champions League group and couldn’t stay in European football.
Felix is the most expensive player the club has ever signed (€126 million), which is another reason why they don’t want him to go out on loan.
Atleti is tired of waiting for the situation to be fixed and insists that their team will stay the same if they don’t get the offers they want.
Atleti are willing to let Yannick Carrasco, Mario Hermoso, and Felipe go in addition to Felix.
