Folarin Balogun, who is on loan to French Ligue 1 club Reims from English club Arsenal and is of Nigerian descent, has been in great form so far this season. He began his loan spell from Arsenal in the summer transfer window.
Yesterday, in his team’s 16th league game of the season, at home against Rennes at the Stade Auguste-Delaune, the 21-year-old England international was again at the top of his game.
Folarin Balogun was ruthless for the home team in the middle of the attack, where he was a big threat in the other team’s box. He was directly involved in two of the three goals, which was a big part of the great win.
Folarin Balogun and Alexis Flips scored for the home team in the first half, giving them a 2-0 lead. Just before halftime, the visiting team’s Arthur Theate scored to cut the score to 2-1.
Folarin Balogun stepped up his game in the second half and showed off some more amazing skills. In the 84th minute, he scored his second goal of the night, making the score 3-1.

The Arsenal loanee scored two goals last night, putting him three goals ahead of Paris Saint-Lionel Germain’s Messi in the race for the French Ligue 1 Golden Boot. His total is now 10 goals, three more than Messi.
He will then hope that his team can keep up the same level of play in their next game as they keep trying to win the competition.
