The Ballon D’Or award is one of the biggest individual awards in the game of football which was first awarded in the year 1956. Originally, it was awarded based on voting by the football journalist between 1956 and 2006, to the male player who have performed the best over the previous year, but everything changed after 2007 when captains and coaches are also given the right to vote.
