Scout has been sent out by Man United management to observe Portuguese star

Manchester United is scouting Benfica’s Goncalo Ramos.

Manchester United may be in the market for a new striker after Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract expired.

Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford have both played center forward this season, but neither is a striker.

Manchester United have dispatched scouts to monitor Benfica striker Ramos, who scored a hat-trick at the World Cup, according to Fabrizio Romano’s Substack column.

“Manchester United has numerous possibilities, including Cody Gakpo. They’re still debating the best next step internally. Romano stated their scouts watched Gonçalo Ramos with Benfica and other clubs.

Manchester United are likely scouting numerous strikers due to their circumstances, and Ramos’ performance against Switzerland in the World Cup will have impressed them.

Ramos, who started over Ronaldo, scored three goals as Portugal won 6-1.
