Barcelona director Cruyff: “Frenkie de Jong is not for sale. He’s key player for us, so that time has passed. He’s here and he’s important for us”, tells Sport.
“At the end last summer after Fair Play discussions he stayed here and Frenkie is really loved at Barça”.

Frenkie de Jong’s future at Barcelona appears to be about to take a new turn as he prepares to again reject the club’s request that he cut his contract.
The initial transfer fee of £56.2 million to sign the masterful Dutch midfielder for Manchester United and Barcelona was agreed upon last summer, but the player had no plans to leave the Camp Nou. In the event that he continues to refuse to lower his salary, the Catalan club will consider offers for their highest-paid player next summer.
De Jong and the club’s board have been at odds more and more recently, with De Jong even accusing them of leaking this summer’s details of his contract. The midfielder’s salary was revealed after he said he would continue under his current contract, despite suggestions from the club that the contract might not be enforceable.
