Thomas Partey was powerless to stop Ghana from losing their opening World Cup match, 3-2 to Portugal.
In his 41st game for his nation, our midfielder made his World Cup debut at Stadium 974 and played the entire match.
Things got off to a slow start with a scoreless first half, but after an hour things really got going when Cristiano Ronaldo scored from the penalty spot to open the scoring for his fifth World Cup finals, but Andre Ayew equalized just eight minutes later.
However, a late goal from Osman Bukari made for an exciting conclusion. Unfortunately for Thomas, Ghana was unable to score the goal they required to secure a share of the spoils. Joao Felix and Rafael Leao scored two quick goals that appeared to have sealed the victory for the Portuguese.
