As a result of Cristiano Ronaldo’s heated interview with Piers Morgan, a mural of him outside Old Trafford has been demolished.
WHAT OCCURED? After the Portuguese forward’s dramatic interview, in which he attacked the ownership and said that he “does not respect” manager Erik Ten Hag, the enormous image—which also included Brian Robson and David Beckham—was taken down.
Why was the monument taken down? The mural’s removal has been attributed to Ronaldo’s inflammatory remarks, but it’s possible that the artwork alteration was just a coincidence. According to recent sources, United always intended to cancel the No. 7 promotion this week since the men’s and women’s Rugby League World Cup finals are scheduled to take place at Old Trafford on Saturday.
