Edu Gaspar has signed Brazilian players in the past and could do so again.
Edu signed Gabriel Martinelli, Gabriel Magalhaes, Gabriel Jesus, and Marquinhos in the past three years as the Gunners built a Brazilian core. Gilberto Silva, a former Arsenal captain, has praised Martinelli and Edu for their off-field work.
Endrick Felipe has been dubbed Brazil’s ‘next Neymar’ and linked with moves to Arsenal and Chelsea. Jesus praised Endrick’s progress, calling him a ‘phenomenon.’ Palmeiras reportedly put a £50million price tag on their prized asset.
Jesus, Arsenal’s £45m summer signing from Palmeiras, praised Endrick to ESPN “Endrick has my attention. Zé Roberto introduced us while I was recovering at the Academy.
“Then I saw him… He’s amazing! Unbelievable! He’s 16? I spent 15 years in the floodplain; he’s a pro.”
Endrick’s advisor, Frederico Pena, runs the same agency as Arsenal star Martinelli, according to football.london. This could give the Gunners an advantage if they try to sign the talented teenager, as Edu will have dealt with him before.
Arsenal’s technical director proved with Jesus’ signing that he is willing to work hard to secure a deal and can convince players to join the club and benefit the project.
Gilberto Silva believes ex-Gunners midfielder Edu will sign Endrick ahead of Chelsea and other top European clubs.
Gilberto: “We know in football it’s important to be well-connected to people, clubs, sporting directors, and club presidents. The best leagues compete for the best players.
“Palmeiras will receive calls from the world’s best clubs to sign him. The player has it rough.
“Sometimes there are many messages and opportunities, making decisions difficult. His friends and family must give him good advice so he can make the right decision. Arsenal will get a good player if they sign him.”
Endrick made his Palmeiras debut this month and has already scored five goals for Brazil’s under-16 team. Edu hopes to bring the “next Neymar” to Arsenal as he reshapes Mikel Arteta’s team.
