Mikel Arteta reacts to Aubameyang’s claims that he Can’t manage big players

Arsenal head coach, Mikel Arteta has reacted following the release of a video showing Ex-Gunners forward, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang criticising him.

The Gabon international had a successful run as captain under Arteta, but in December 2021 he was relieved of that responsibility and soon after was sold to Spanish outfit, Barcelona.

The experienced striker then later departed Camp Nou to join rivals, Chelsea and return to the English top flight, but in a video shot during the summer, he criticized the current Arsenal head coach.

In an interview with A Jewellers while he was still a Barcelona player, Aubameyang said, “To manage big characters or big players, He [ Arteta] cannot deal with it, Young players are what he needs because they listen without speaking.

The Ex-Borussia Dortmund Star has addressed the video on his own, but Arteta was also quizzed about it ahead of the London based outfit match against Bodo/Glimt in the UEFA Europa League & instead of going into too much information about the Aubameyang’s statements.

The Spanish tactician tried to use the moment to emphasize the positives of his present group of players.

“People are free to say what they want,” Arteta said when asked what his view was on the matter.

He was also questioned about the atmosphere in the dressing room, and he could not have been more complimentary.

He said, “Phenomenal, I’ve never been in a better dressing room.” It’s an incredible pleasure for me as a coach to be a part of this group because they are more fun, harder workers, and have better relationships with the staff and players.
