Sambi Lokonga’s performance against Bodo/Glimt in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday, October 6, did not go over well with Arsenal supporters.

At the Emirates Stadium, the Gunners were able to defeat their opponents 3-0. For Mikel Arteta’s team, Fabio Vieira, Rob Holding, and Eddie Nketiah scored goals.

In order to give young players a chance to shine during the Europa League match, the Spanish tactician decided to rest a few important players.

That opportunity was also given to Sambi Lokonga. The Belgian midfielder, however, had an underwhelming performance.

Fans have begun to speculate about Sambi Lokonga’s future with the team. He can’t play as the No. 6 because of his poor defensive abilities, they said.

According to some, the player lacks positional awareness because he frequently catches the ball. Several people also brought up the fact that the player only makes sideways and backward passes.

Arsenal supporters criticized Sambi Lokonga for his conduct on Twitter. Some of the top tweets are listed below:

Sambi Lokonga joined the team from Anderlecht last year. For the Gunners, he has made 32 appearances without contributing to a goal. He has so far this season made eight appearances for the team in all competitions.

With their victory over Bodo/Glimt, Arsenal has now amassed six points from their opening two Europa League contests. In their first game, they defeated FC 1-2 Zurich. With 21 points from eight games, the Gunners are also in first place in the Premier League standings.

According to Mikel Arteta’s comments to reporters when asked how his team is doing, football.london:

“I believe that every game is challenging to win, and we did that today. Although I’m very pleased with the outcome, I’m also very aware that there are things we can do much better.”
The Spanish strategist continued by giving the following reasons for his early substitutions:

There were players who needed playing time without being overextended for Sunday, and I believe we accomplished that quite well.
On Sunday, October 9 at the Emirates Stadium, the Gunners will play their subsequent Premier League match against Liverpool.
