Stale Solbakken says Martin Odegaard’s calf injury is “not good.”
The Arsenal captain missed Sunday’s win over Brentford along with Emile Smith Rowe and Oleksandr Zinchenko. It’s unclear what role he can play in his country’s UEFA Nations League double-header against Slovenia and Serbia.
Solbakken doesn’t know if the 23-year-old can play despite remaining in camp.
Odegaard has done well since becoming Arsenal captain this summer. Mikel Arteta’s team is atop the Premier League after six appearances and three goals.
Solbakken told TV2: “We speak regularly with him, (Mikel) Arteta, and Arsenal’s health sector.” There’s still hope because nothing’s been decided.
“They’ve had ‘hands on him’ until now and are talking.
“He’s sick.” Now the question is whether he can play in both games. He’ll play or coach in Norway.
“Having him matters.”
