Mikel Arteta said last week about Brentford: “I wished Ethan Nwaneri well. All of our decisions, including mine, benefit the club. Not for me or the player.

“We believe he has talent that must be developed in the next two or three years. We’ll see how we do. Usually, the players tell you and demand how far they can go.

“I have a feeling when I see him. We want to give opportunities to talented, charismatic, fearless players.”

Nwaneri, 15, became the youngest Premier League player in Sunday’s 3–0 win at Brentford.

It’s unclear if the attacking midfielder will play more for Arsenal this season, but the Europa League could be an option.
