Crystal Palace’s match against Brighton has been postponed. Sunday’s Chelsea-Liverpool match has also been postponed.
Arsenal will play Brentford the same day as Chelsea, but this match will go on. Both matches were scheduled to take place in the capital, but one was canceled.
Chelsea vs. Liverpool has been postponed due to Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral on September 19. Concerns over a lack of police resources for Sunday’s games due to the funeral were the main reason for the postponements.
Premier League: “After extensive consultation with clubs, police, local Safety Advisory Groups and other relevant authorities, there was no other option but to postpone the three matches.”
As there is no rivalry between Arsenal and Brentford, a large police presence is not expected for this game.
Despite not being cancelled, the game time was changed from 2pm to 12pm. This improves the proceedings’ safety.
