After Edu played well against RB Leipzig in the Champions League, Mykhaylo Mdruyk sent him a reminder about the Arsenal transfer.

Arsenal couldn’t sign a winger during the summer transfer window, even though they needed to get better on the outside. There is a lot of pressure on Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli to do well until the next chance to work on this part of the pitch.

Mykhaylo Mudryk was said to be a player the club wanted to sign during the summer transfer window. But because the Gunners seemed to show interest in him so late in the window, a deal seemed too hard to make.

The Ukrainian winger showed Edu why Arsenal should try to make a deal again in January by playing a key role in Shakhtar Donestk’s 4-1 win over RB Leipzig in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Mudryk scored one goal and helped his teammates score two more by setting them up. His win in Europe’s top competition showed how talented he is, which is why Edu should try to make a deal with him before more teams show interest in him.

Ukrainian news site football24tv says that Arsenal talked to Mudryk’s representatives and were interested in signing the player in the summer. The report said that Shakhtar Donetsk wants £30 million (€35 million).

But Arsenal wasn’t the only Premier League team that was interested in the winger. Fabrizio Romano, a transfer expert, also said that Everton were very interested in Mudryk.

Romano sent a tweet: “Keep an eye on top talent Mykhaylo Mudryk. Shakhtar Donetsk turned down Everton’s verbal offer of €30 million (£25 million) last week. A few days ago, Arsenal looked into the terms of a Mudryk deal, but only on the player side. Many clubs want him, but there is one to keep an eye on until the end.”

Oleksandr Zinchenko, who is from the same country as Mudryk, has already joined Arsenal this summer. The midfielder was bought for £32 million from Premier League rivals Manchester City. Mudryk is one of the best young players in Ukraine, and he has recently caught the attention of several clubs in Europe.

Before the summer transfer window closed, it was thought that Arteta was looking for a new winger. The fact that the club tried to sign Raphinha but failed to do so is the best sign yet that they are serious about doing so. Since nothing has happened since then, it seems like the chance to try to get the Brazilian’s services was too good to pass up.

Even though that could be the case, Romano says that Edu has already set his sights on another winger, but Arsenal’s silence makes it hard to figure out who it could be. Arsenal has been linked to a “mystery winger,” but Fabrizio Romano says that Edu and Mikel Arteta still want to fill that role.

Mudryk could be the winger that the Gunners sign in January. If he keeps playing so well in the Champions League, no one will be able to ignore him.
