The UK Telegraph says that Thomas Tuchel’s decision not to let Manchester United sign Cristiano Ronaldo was the beginning of the end for him.
The owner of the Blues, Todd Boehly, really wanted to get the 37-year-old player this summer.
Ronaldo wanted to leave United and would have gone to Chelsea because they play in the Champions League.
But Tuchel turned down the chance to get the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.
This made them disagree right away, and Boehly didn’t want to just take “no” for an answer.
On the other hand, Tuchel seemed annoyed that he had to explain why he didn’t want Ronaldo.
After losing 1-0 to Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League the day before, the German manager was finally fired on Wednesday morning.
