Douglas Luiz speaks out about the failed Arsenal transfer on the last day of the window.

Even though Arsenal made three bids for Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz, they were not able to make a deal.

Douglas Luiz has broken his silence after his failed move to the Emirates Stadium on the last day of the transfer window. Aston Villa turned down the Gunners’ last offer of £25 million because they were adamant that they would not sell the player.

This was a surprise, since Luiz’s contract is up next summer and his current team made a deal with Wolves for midfielder Leander Dendoncker. It was thought that his team would be happy for Luiz to leave, but that was clearly not the case.

After all the drama, the manager, Steven Gerrard, said that he was sure Luiz would understand the club’s position.

Gerrard said, “I’m sure he’ll understand what’s going on and the club’s decision.” “We didn’t want to lose a top player who was very important to us so late in the window.

“From my own point of view, I agree with the club’s stance on that very much. I talked to him in person yesterday, and he knew where we were and what was going on with the club. He agrees with the decision a lot.”

If Luiz’s most recent post on Instagram is any indication, Gerrard was right when he said that Luiz was fully committed to the club. He wrote, “100% focused here! @avfcofficial” in his most recent Instagram post.

The injuries to Mohammed Elneny and Thomas Partey have left Arsenal short in the middle of the field, which is why they made three bids for David Luiz.

At the moment, Sambi Lokonga is the only option for a central midfielder. He will hope to build on the good game he had against Aston Villa on Wednesday night.

It will be interesting to see if the Gunners try to make a deal for Luiz in January. Because he will be getting close to the end of his contract, the money needed to get the former Manchester City midfielder’s services should be less at that time.
