Barcelona’s final team for the 2022–23 season has been made official, at least until January. This news comes with the players’ final jersey numbers, even though most of them were already wearing them when the season began.
Sergino Dest left on the last day of the season, leaving his #2 jersey behind. That went to Hector Bellerin, who is taking over for him. Marcos Alonso, who also signed on the last day, will wear the number 17, which was previously worn by Luuk de Jong and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Robert Lewandowski’s #9 is already well-known to Barcelona fans, since the Pole scored four goals in his first three official games. Memphis Depay has been given the number 14, which was already official.
There are a few more changes to the numbers. Ferran Torres moved from number 19 to number 11. Miralem Pjanic’s number 8, which was taken by Pedri, is now 16.
Franck Kessie will wear number 19, Jules Kounde will wear number 23, and Raphinha will wear number 22. The #15 car driven by Andreas Christensen has also been used a few times.
Five players from Barcelona’s second team have also been given numbers. Inaki Pena will wear number 26, Alejandro Balde will wear number 28, Gavi will wear number 30, Pablo Torre will wear number 32, and Arnau Tenas will wear number 36.
But of the five, Torre and Tenas are most likely to keep playing for Barcelona Athletic. If and when they are called up, they will have the numbers listed above.
