Chelsea summer signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang answered Didier Drogba and Xavi Hernandez on social media. Drogba is a club legend, and Xavi Hernandez is the manager of Barcelona.
Aubameyang and Denis Zakaria both moved to Stamford Bridge on the last day of the transfer window, while Todd Boehly made a few last-minute deals. The 33-year-old is one of eight first-team players that Thomas Tuchel brought to Chelsea during the summer transfer window. He did this to strengthen his team before the busy 2022/23 season.
Drogba’s tweet about Aubameyang’s signing with the Blues shows that he was happy about it. Aubameyang is 33 years old. Now, the new Chelsea striker has responded to both Drogba and Xavi’s comments about the Gabonese forward’s departure from Camp Nou.
After the transfer deadline, Xavi talked to the press about Aubameyang’s decision to leave Barcelona after only eight months there. The boss of Spain told Xavi: “Aubameyang was a leader on and off the field, and he made a big difference. His numbers are great, and as a person, he’s a gem. He set a good example for the whole team and for every player.”
The 33-year-old responded to the comments from his former manager that praised his performances and attitude with a “praying” emoji, which showed that he was thankful for the kind words. Barça was willing to sell the Gabon international because they were having money problems and had just brought in Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha.
Aubameyang also responded to what Drogba said after it was announced that he was moving to Chelsea. Drogba wrote on his Twitter page: “At last!!!!! Remember when we talked about it a long time ago? Happy for you, @Auba!”
The man, who was 33, replied: “At last! I just saw that tweet, and I couldn’t feel any luckier.”
Even though he can train with his new teammates at Cobham, Aubameyang will want to get better quickly so he can play his first game for Chelsea. When he comes back to the Premier League, the Blues will be hoping that the 33-year-old can have the same effect at Stamford Bridge as Didier Drogba.
