Arsenal has a secret weapon in talks to get Mykhaylo Mudryk to sign with them.

This summer, Arsenal wants to sign Shakhtar Donetsk star Mykhaylo Mudryk, and Mikel Arteta wants to make one or two more transfers.

Arsenal has been rumored to be interested in Shakhtar Donetsk star Mykhaylo Mudryk as Mikel Arteta looks to get a new winger.

Before the transfer window closes on Thursday, Arteta wants to add one or two more players to his team. A central midfielder is now more important than a winger. Mudryk became a target for the Gunners this week, but Brentford is also interested in the Ukrainian star and wants to sign him for £25 million.

Brentford has tried to make a move for an Arsenal player before. Earlier this summer, they tried to sign Aaron Hickey instead of Arsenal. Shakhtar doesn’t want to lose the 21-year-old, and it will be hard to make a deal for Mudryk before the deadline.

Ben Jacobs, a CBS journalist, talked about Arsenal’s interest in Shakhtar’s talented winger on the EGTV YouTube channel. He said that the Gunners have been watching Mudryk since he was 15 years old. Jacobs said, “For about two weeks, Arsenal have been linked with him. He is young and not well-known in football, but he is a very exciting player to watch.

“He’s 21 years old, he’s been playing in Ukraine, and he’s been followed pretty much since he was at Dnipro. This is because he is calm, fast, and can move well when he doesn’t have the ball.

Jacobs went on to say that the fact that Mudryk played with Oleksandr Zinchenko on the Ukraine national team may be a good sign for Arsenal if they want to try to sign the 21-year-old this summer. “Not only is he versatile, but he’s also comfortable on both sides, which fits the Arsenal profile. He has two good feet, and he knows Zinchenko well, which may help in negotiations,” said Jacobs.

Mudryk could move, but Shakhtar might not want to lose their young talent. They have already lost a lot of players because of the war in Ukraine. The Athletic says that Premier League rivals Brentford are ready to offer £25.7 million for the youngster. This could be a repeat of the trick they used to sign Aaron Hickey, even though the Gunners wanted to sign the Scottish defender.

After injuries to Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny, technical director Edu is said to be more interested in finding a new central midfielder than a winger. Hector Bellerin and Ainsley Maitland-Niles are still expected to leave the club, which means the next 48 hours will be busy at the Emirates Stadium.
