Reports say that Thomas Tuchel wants to change his system as manager of Chelsea in the next few weeks.
The Evening Standard says that the German is thinking about switching to a four at the back system with number eights in the next few weeks instead of the midfielders they have been using.
One player who has been hurt by the Blues’ system so far is Conor Gallagher, who came back from a loan at Crystal Palace hoping to make his mark on the Chelsea team.
The England player was one of the season’s breakout stars when he was at Selhurst Park, but he hasn’t been able to make much of an impact since moving back to West London.
His rough start was topped off by a red card in the first half against Leicester City. His teammates had to dig deep to get the win without him.
A change in the system could help Gallagher.
But he has had trouble adapting to the Blues’ system. If the Evening Standard’s reports of a system change are true, his career could finally get going at Stamford Bridge.
The article does say that the German thinks that Gallagher is the best replacement for N’golo Kante, who is still hurt after leaving the game against Tottenham tied.
Gallagher did a great job in a box-to-box role while he was on loan. He often won the ball high up the field and started attacks. He was also involved in a fair number of goals.

He hasn’t been able to do any of these things in his current role under Tuchel because he picks up the ball in places where someone with Jorginho’s skills would do better.
Tonight, the team will find out if there is someone else who can fill the spot left by N’golo Kante.
