“He is not leaving for now” Chelsea defender’s loan exit blocked by Tuchel

Thomas Tuchel reportedly opposed a trade for Trevoh Chalobah because of Wesley Fofana’s status.

Thomas Tuchel reportedly opposed a trade for Trevoh Chalobah because of Wesley Fofana's status.

FC Inter News reports that Thomas Tuchel vetoed Trevoh Chalobah’s exit. The center defender was supposed to leave before the deadline, but that seems unlikely now.

Chelsea is continuously searching for fresh players as they finalize their team for the current season. Thomas Tuchel requires a striker, midfielder, and center defender.

The latter’s arrival could affect Trevoh Chalobah, who wants regular playing time. The defender was a regular for Tuchel last season, but he ended up on the bench.

Chelsea reportedly pursued Wesley Fofana after Chalobah’s lackluster preseason. The deal for the Frenchman becomes more tricky every day, but the Blues remain hopeful.

Chelsea is preparing a £75 million bid for Leicester’s Frenchman. Tuchel has placed Chalobah’s move on hold due to the Fofana trade.

Chalobah wanted to play regularly and was courted by many clubs. Remaining in the Premier League was always an option, despite foreign interest.

Milan was considering reuniting Chalobah with Fikayo Tomori. The Rossoneri reportedly considered loaning the defender for €3 million with a €30 million buy option.

Tuchel may keep the defender for the season after blocking Milan and Lazio. Things could get easier for both players if Chelsea can get Fofana soon.

Chalobah won’t play regularly for Chelsea with or without Fofana. He’ll want to find regular playing time elsewhere. Will the Blues meet the player’s demands?
