Erik ten Hag, the head coach of Manchester United, has said that Anthony Martial will not play on Saturday against Southampton.
He also hinted that the new player Casemiro will make his club debut.
Martial was healthy enough to play in the second half of Monday night’s win over Liverpool. He replaced Anthony Elanga and did a great job after coming on.
But the Frenchman’s season has taken another turn for the worse after the 26-year-old pulled up in training.
Casemiro, who moved to Manchester United from Real Madrid for £70 million, could play his first game for the Premier League club soon.
“Casemiro is in shape. He went to all of the trainings. First, he trained on his own, and in the last few days, he trained with the team.
“Anthony Martial isn’t in good shape. He had trouble with his Achilles and had to leave the game, so we have to wait.
He said, “I can’t say how long it will take, but we hope he will be ready for the next game against Leicester.”
