Patrick Vieira thinks that rumors about Wilfried Zaha’s future at Crystal Palace are just something that the club has to “deal with.”
The forward has had a great start to the season, scoring three goals in his first two games. Palace is getting ready for its second season under Vieira’s excellent leadership.
Because of how well he’s been playing, there are reports that Arsenal is becoming more interested in the 29-year-old. The Gunners came close to signing him in the summer of 2019.
With only one year left on his contract at Selhurst Park, Zaha’s future is sure to be talked about a lot, and more teams are likely to show interest.
Still, Vieira says that’s nothing out of the ordinary for a player like Zaha.
“”He’s been great on and off the field since I joined the football club,” he said.
“I think he’s taken responsibility, he’s a mature player, he works every day to try to get better, and he’s been doing well for us.
“When I came here last year, there was a lot of talk about him, and I think that will always be the case because of how good a player he is, so we’ll just have to deal with it.
“We had a great start to the season. He wanted to do well, and I see him every day at practice. He is obviously one of the talented players who will always shine when the team is doing well.
“We’re talking about how we want to play the game and how he can get better at scoring goals and help the team. He is a key player on the field and off.
“I think it’s easy to see how much his fans love him every week. He came up through the ranks, and he loves playing for this football club. There’s no reason for that to change.”
