After being left off the roster for Monday night’s 2-1 win over Liverpool, former Manchester United player Patrice Evra has recommended that Cristiano Ronaldo, Harry Maguire, and Luke Shaw should leave the club.
After back-to-back defeats to Brighton and Brentford, United manager Erik ten Hag benched the trio.
Evra, who appeared in more than 370 games for United, thinks that Ten Hag should be praised for making the risky play that led to a 2-1 victory.
As a Betfair brand ambassador, Evra remarked, “When you win against Liverpool you get the fans on your side, and it will be a major help for him.” From now on, Ten Hag must put aside his own interests and those of the team as a whole when making important decisions.
I believe the starting eleven was a major factor in the victory. We would have lost for sure if we had started the same players we did against Brighton and Brentford. I believe Ten Hag was self-centered and focused solely on himself; he likely reasoned, “I don’t want to lose my position; thus, I must get rid of key personnel and institute drastic reforms.”
