Mikel Arteta is certain Gabriel Jesus will play well in the Premier League. Arteta Revealed: The truth behind Gabriel Jesus move to Arsenal

The Brazilian left Manchester City for Arsenal this summer and has quickly settled in.

Jesus scored twice and assisted another two in Arsenal’s 4-2 triumph over Leicester.

Arteta believes the opportunity for Jesus to be the main man at the Emirates attracted the striker this summer.

“That’s what he needed,” said Wenger. “He’s played a lot of games in this league in recent years, but rarely as a starter, especially in the last two.

“He wants to be the team’s difference-maker, and that’s the next step.”

Jesus is a vice-captain at Arsenal, helping new captain Martin Odegaard.

Arteta worked with Jesus at City, so he knows how much he can contribute on and off the pitch.

“We know what he brings as a player,” Arteta added.

“He’s won everything in the last few years; he knows the standards.

“We had to adjust his role in the club, and now he’s a leader. He’s a natural leader, but he’s also prepared and in a moment of his career where he can accomplish what we need.
