Edu reportedly boarded a trip to Spain on Sunday morning, leaving Gunners fans salivating over additional summer acquisitions. North London giants have won their first two Premier League games, building enthusiasm at the Emirates Stadium. Express Sport looks at four La Liga deals Edu could try to negotiate during his visit.
Yeremy Pino
Edu wants to sign Villarreal winger Yeremy Pino. After rising quickly at Estadio de la Ceramica, the 19-year-old Spain international has been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium.
The wonderkid had seven goals and four assists in 40 games last season. He played seven times in the Champions League as Villarreal reached the semi-finals.
Danjuma
Edu may try to sign Arnaut Danjuma at Estadio de la Ceramica. The 25-year-old attacker left Bournemouth for Villarreal last summer and scored 16 goals in 34 games.
Danjuma showed he could compete with Europe’s best by scoring six Champions League goals. Arsenal’s attack would be boosted if Edu could lure him to north London.
Soler
Carlos Soler has also been linked to Arsenal. The 25-year-old midfielder was rumored to transfer to north London two summers ago but stayed in Spain. The Spaniard made 38 appearances last season. He scored 12 goals and had 5 assists.
Asensio
Edu could visit Madrid to see if Real Madrid would sign Marco Asensio. The winger is out of contract and Arsenal has shown interest.
Asensio, who has 29 Spain caps, was in and out of Real’s lineup last season but didn’t participate in the Champions League final against Liverpool. The 26-year-old could move.
